Winter Expedition Tours

Husky Sled Tours:
After arriving at H&H we make our first little sled tour. You familiarize yourself with your own dog team who will be your team for the following days. The experienced mushers will give you instructions on how to drive your teams and hints on how to drive over varied terrain such as steep inclines, fast crossings on flat places, river crossings and rapid descents.
On the second day we pack the dog sleds with food and equipment for the coming adventure. We start you off as the musher of your own team on your chosen expedition. One guide will lead the teams while another guide will follow to assist at any time.
Day by day we make our way through the plateaus and mountain ranges of the Patagonian Region. Before evening falls, we find campsites in the trees which offer protection from the elements as well as provide firewood for the evening campfire.
Everyone will look after and feed their own dog team before settling up our own camps. Around the campfire or in the tent we enjoy homemade dinners and local wine.
You don´t need experience to participate and enjoy these tours – all you need to know you will learn from the H&H team. The unpredictable local climate influences our tours day-by-day but every weather condition offers its own sense of adventure and fun.
*H&H reserve the right to amend tours at their discretion based on weather conditions which are potentially volatile in the Patagonian region. In this case, we do our utmost to provide a similar or improved program for your booked tour.

Horses and saddles:

At H&H we live together with crellos and other mixed horse breeds that are very strong and sturdy and are used by the Gaucos. These horses were brought over during the Spanish settlement and were left behind and used by the Gaucos for their farm work. These hardy animals are able to survive in harsh climates as well as on relatively infertile soil and tough grasses while still maintaining a gentle temperament.
